Re-use and recordkeeping

November 11, 2011

Another interesting discussion, this time inspired by Chris Hurley’s views of little trucks, WikiLeaks and the family of Henry VIII. Questions were raised around re-use, its relationship with interpretation and whether it was just a new word for something archivists have always done. No firm conclusions were drawn, and, as always, any further thoughts are welcome below.

One conclusion that was reached however, was that the next meeting should probably be delayed until after the Christmas party season, so the date for your diaries is 6.30pm on 9th January 2012. Venue to be decided, but text has been agreed as Caroline Williams, “Studying Reality: The Application of Theory in an Aspect of UK Practice“.

So come along with your appraisal hats on and beat those January blues!
